“It’s a frightful thing, thinking you have to get God right in order to get God to love you...” She went on to suggest something both unsettling and liberating: that being wrong about God may simply be part of being human, and that the moment we believe we have completely figured God out, we have mistaken our understanding for the One who forever exceeds it.
