It struck me forcibly today during friday psalms:
yes, tragedy and malevolence flood the media day after day;
endless cycles of violence, greed, corruption, crime, destruction . . . .
But meanwhile the real work -
the work of healing, compassion, tenderness,
of sharing, play, joy, love, building, creation . . . .
this real work goes largely unreported,
continuing ceaselessly under the radar.
This is what and where you are at
and most especially in those places where evil seems to reign.
But it doesn't
and, if we look carefully, we can all bear witness to that.
And that, I am sure, is what we are called to do.
And when we do, we help sow the seeds of justice.
