tonight dogma unravelled for me a little . . .

Word
is Language
is all of human knowledge
is Wisdom
is truth as we conceive it.

not Truth as it is but truth as we conceive it
revealed to us . . .
but only through language:
the Word.

Truth as it really is cannot be conceived.

"the Word through whom you made all things"
the knowledge by which we conceive the truth?
the gift of language? 

"In the beginning was the Word"
but
In the beginning is what is.
inconceivable
"I am who I am."

Only revealed to us through the Word  . . . . .

but not "the Word by which" 
but "the Word through whom" 
and so:
"the knowledge by which we conceive the truth"
would read
"the knowledge in whom we conceive the truth"

you

truth can never be conceived
but, in relationship with it
(which means with you)
we grow.

in awareness of you is surely all knowledge;
all we could ever need to know.

like Melchisidek of old.
the gift of language:
priesthood.
of all creation only we
humans
are called as mediators.
this is not the role of a few clerics
but all  who heed.

clerical priesthood then as sacrament.
sacrament is sign.
(for us; not you.)

from nothing:
creation.
dust to dust
less than dust!
we bind the creation back to your holy no-thing-ness from which we all spring
and to whom we are bound.

but not by chains
but love.

confusion

 the psalmist says
when you hide your face I am put to confusion.
no, it is when you show your face that confuses me so.

stumped

stumped.
stymied.
very confused.
but you let me sit beside you
